Throwing out old computers...

In the interest of trying to stop myself from keeping too much stuff, I am trying to put together a rule of thumb for throwing out old computers. I used to keep a lot of em' around for spare parts and what not but I've got to keep things a bit more tidy now. I figure that if a computer is worth less than 30 bucks on ebay it's time to get rid of it. $30 ain't a lot of money out here in San Francisco. It's about a tank of gas or two large pizzas. Then there's the expense of listing, shipping, etc and so I just throw it out.... In fact other people seem to have the same idea. I am starting to see a lot of old mac IIs and so forth sitting on the sidewalk on my way to work. Funny that people can't even give em' away these days. Once, long ago, I drooled over these machines but now they're just worthless garbage. About a year ago I made a point of throwing out all the 10bt network cards I had since 100bt cards were $5 and 10x faster. Maybe soon I'll start doing that with the 100bt cards.
